Two athletes will join the CoE in Canberra as part of a mid-year intake.

Two athletes will join the Centre of Excellence in Canberra with Reece Anticevic & Lily Mapp inducted to the women’s program in a mid-year intake.

Anticevic is from the Cockburn Cougars in Perth, Western Australia and featured for WA Metro in 2024’s U18 National Championships.

Lily Mapp hails from Mackay, Queensland and was in the U15 Sapphires championship team for the recent Oceania Cup in Canberra.

Mel Downer, Interim Head Coach of the Women’s program provided insights to the additions.

“We are pleased to welcome Reece and Lily to the Centre of Excellence as mid-year entrants. Both athletes bring exceptional length, international-level athleticism, and a high work ethic,” said Downer.

“Reece recently delivered an outstanding campaign at the U18 National Championships with her WA Metro team, demonstrating her scoring versatility and ability to contribute across multiple positions,”

“Lily is a dynamic forward with a natural instinct for rebounding and uses her timing and length effectively to protect the rim. We look forward to supporting their continued development in the CoE environment.”

Both athletes will transfer to Canberra to commence their enrolment in the program.
