RECRUITMENT
- Potential official reaches out to their local association.
- Associations gauges suitability to be an official & confirms if association is ready to onboard a new official.
- Directed to etrainu to complete officiating* & safeguarding courses. (See here for how to)
- Book in for and attend face-to-face clinic.*
- Referees must complete C1 online course prior to attending in-person clinic.
- Your association will help you book in for your in-person clinic.
REGISTRATION
- State/territory annual registration.*
- Association annual registration* for primary association.
- Receive trainee shirt. (loaned or purchased*)
- Recruit to purchase other uniform / equipment items.
PRACTICE
- Commence on court experience shadowing a trainer.
- Minimum 10 games shadowing within a 3 month period.**
- Progress to trainer having limited intervention.
- Progress to trainer observing / only end of quarter feedback.
ASSESSMENT
- Once officiating regularly without trainer assistance, coach will commence practical assessments.
- Minimum of 3 games between assessments.**
- Primary association holds ownership of final approval. Referee coaches will submit completed assessment to the association, who will email their confirmation to the official.
- Official will then log into etrainu and upload their assessment for their State/Territory's approval.
ACCREDITATION
- State/Territory reviews uploaded assessment and then ticks as approved.
- Next level of course will unlocked in etrainu.
- Minimum of 6 months practical experience prior to being assessment-ready for next level of accreditation.**
