Basketball Australia has confirmed the squad lists for Camp 1 of the Under-17 men’s and women’s national programs, with athletes selected to attend the first national camps of the year next month.
The Under-17 men’s Camp 1 will be held from 8–11 March, followed by the Under-17 women’s Camp 1 from 15–18 March, providing athletes with their first opportunity this year to train within the national performance environment as preparations begin for upcoming World Cup campaigns later in 2026.
The Under-17 women’s program enters Camp 1 with strong international momentum after claiming gold at the FIBA Under-16 Women’s Asia Cup in Malaysia in September last year, where they booked their tickets to the FIBA Under-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup, to be held in the Czech Republic from 11–19 July. The official draw will take place on Thursday, 12 February 2026, at Domini Park in Brno.
The Under-17 men’s program will use its March camp as a key lead-in to the FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup, which will be staged in Türkiye from 27 June to 5 July, after securing World Cup qualification at last year’s FIBA Under-16 Asia Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Australia has been drawn into Group D alongside Venezuela, Serbia and Côte d’Ivoire.
