National Volunteers Week

National Volunteer Week is here, nominate your club's unsung heroes on the Australian Sports Commission's Volunteer Map and help celebrate the people who make basketball happen every week.

National Volunteer Week is the perfect opportunity to recognise the incredible people who help bring basketball to life in communities across Australia.

From coaches and team managers to scorers, committee members, canteen volunteers and game-day helpers, volunteers are the backbone of our sport.

The Australian Sports Commission’s Volunteer Map is back for 2026, giving the basketball community the chance to celebrate the people making a difference at clubs, associations and programs nationwide.

Any sport volunteer aged 18 and over can be recognised - whether they’ve dedicated decades to the game or simply lend a hand each weekend, every contribution counts.

Getting involved is easy:

  1. Visit the Volunteer Map
  2. Add yourself or nominate a volunteer
  3. Share their story and celebrate their contribution to basketball

You can also explore the map to discover and celebrate volunteers from sporting communities right across Australia.

Join Basketball Australia in giving 3 Cheers for Volunteers and help put our basketball community on the map this National Volunteer Week.
